This article offers a critical review of the Spanish pronominal system (personal, possessive and demonstrative pronouns) as described in Nebrija's works and in those of the 16th and 17th century grammarians. These texts show that the history of grammatics is frequently a history of errors. In fact, the methodology conveniences they chose to establish regular models, led grammarians to false the reality of the language. Quite frequently also, as they intended to develop the grammatical thinking establishing certain categories or divisions among them, these authors originated errors that have been perpetuated in their texts. Discrete wavelet transform based multispectral filter array demosaicking

International audience; The idea of colour filter array may be adapted to multi-spectral image acquisition by integrating more filter types into the array, and developing associated demosaicking algorithms. Several methods employing discrete wavelet transform (DWT) have been proposed for CFA demosaicking. In this work, we put forward an extended use of DWT for mul-tispectral filter array demosaicking. The extension seemed straightforward, however we observed striking results. This work contributes to better understanding of the issue by demonstrating that spectral correlation and spatial resolution of the images exerts a crucial influence on the performance of DWT based demosaicking.
A Database of Spectral Filter Array Images that Combine Visible and NIR

International audience; Spectral filter array emerges as a multispectral imaging technology, which could benefit several applications. Although several instantiations are prototyped and commercialized, there are yet only a few raw data available that could serve research and help to evaluate and design adequate related image processing and algorithms. This document presents a freely available spectral filter array database of images that combine visible and near infra-red information.

Strombine dehydrogenase in the demosponge Suberites domuncula: Characterization and kinetic properties of the enzyme crucial for anaerobic metabolism

Previously, the cDNA and the respective gene for a presumed tauropine dehydrogenase (TaDH) from Suberites domuncula (GenBank accession nos. AM712888, AM712889) had been annotated. The conclusion that the sequences encode a TaDH had been inferred from the 68% identity with the TaDH protein from the marine demosponge Halichondria japonica. However, subsequent enzymatic assays shown here indicate that the presumed S. domuncula opine dehydrogenase is in fact a strombine dehydrogenase (StDH). The enzyme StDH is highly specific for glycine and is inhibited by an excess of the substrate pyruvate. In Herodian’s historical view the demos appears to play an important political role in critical stages of the Roman empire. The political success of an emperor depends on the popular approval in Rome or in the provincial cities, besides the support of the soldiers. The analysis of the words demos and ochlos, used by Herodian with different values, reveals that the historian cannot be defined filo-popular, but shows throughout interest in the popular participation in civil struggles.

In Herodian’s historical view the demos appears to play an important political role in critical stages of the Roman empire. The political success of an emperor depends on the popular approval in Rome or in the provincial cities, besides the support of the soldiers. The essay aims to evaluate the relationship between demos and armies, between demos and senate from Commodus to Maximinus, and to analyze the differences in this chronological period. The use of the words demos and ochlos, in Herodian’ s historical work, has different values: it reveals that the historian cannot be defined philo-popular, but shows throughout interest in the popular partecipation in civil struggles.

Ramon Llull és autor d’un extens i excepcional corpus de proverbis, distribuït en cinc reculls que va escriure principalment entre 1295 i 1302. En aquest article, després de contextualitzar les col·leccions en el marc de la trajectòria intel·lectual de Llull, de presentar els seus trets més remarcables i de repassar breument alguns aspectes de la teoria paremiològica sobre els marcadors proverbials, s’analitza l’ús d’un conjunt de procediments retòrics en la formulació dels enunciats, en especial la personificació i el paral·lelisme, el qual es posa en relació amb les funcions i les aplicacions pràctiques que Llull mateix preveu per als seus proverbis.
